Inspections made easy with Hades Subfloor
Hades Subfloor is designed to make underfloor inspections faster, cleaner, and more consistent, without putting the operator into a confined, dirty space. It is simple to deploy and easy to drive, giving you a clear live view of the subfloor with high image quality and lighting that holds up in real-world conditions. Thermal imaging adds another layer of insight, helping highlight temperature differences that can indicate moisture, missing insulation, drafts, or other issues that are easy to miss with a standard camera. The result is a more comfortable workflow for the inspector, better documentation for your report, and fewer compromises when access is tight or conditions are unpleasant.
The Hades Workflow
1. Deploy
Hades is built to get working fast on real jobs. Place it at the access point, connect, and send it under the home with minimal setup. Its low-profile design and rugged build help it handle tight clearances and typical subfloor obstacles, so you can start inspecting without crawling in yourself.
2. Drive
Inspection coverage is achieved through direct operator control. Live video and onboard illumination provide continuous visibility, enabling deliberate navigation to points of interest and controlled viewing when closer inspection is required. The platform supports steady movement, stopping, reversing, and repositioning as needed to document specific areas. A thermal view is available when additional contrast is useful for identifying anomalies that are not obvious in standard video.
3. Deliver
Captured visuals can be retained as a clear record of the inspection. This supports internal reporting, communication with clients, and follow-up work by providing objective context for any findings. Deliverables can be used to document site condition, highlight areas requiring attention, and provide consistent evidence to accompany recommendations or quotations.

Contact Energy - NZ
Contact Energy required a robotic solution for penstock inspections across its hydroelectric assets. Techmatics’ Hades‑4 robot was selected for this application. The robot is now used for penstock inspections throughout New Zealand, improving safety and inspection efficiency in confined and hazardous environments. -
Vertech
Vertech Inspections commissioned Techmatics Robotics to design and build a custom robotic inspection solution. The delivered system features a removable pan‑tilt camera with optical zoom, mounted on the top of the robot, along with an additional front‑mounted camera. The robot supports both wireless and tethered operation, providing Vertech Inspections with flexible options for inspecting pipelines, crawlspaces, and confined environments.
